The simpliest way to settle the question about what to do about it is to start with a semen analysis to determine if it's having any effect on the testicles. You can also opt to see a urologist who could do all the same workup, as well as any treatment that was needed. Depending on what he/she finds, there are even ways to correct it without invasive surgery. Varicoceles are very common, so you are most certainly not alone in this. I don't even know that I'd say it was all that abnormal, since I've certainly seen a good many fellows with them in my career. The majority don't seem to have any problems with it either. We've even done vasectomies on men who had them, so obviously it doesn't always interfere with fertility either. Just go see your regular doctor or a urologist and get it sorted out.
